Dr. Jianguo Ding, University of Luxembourg, Luxembourg

Dr. Jianguo Ding currently works as a senior researcher in the Interdisciplinary Center for Security, Reliability and Trust (SnT) of University of Luxembourg. His research interests include network management, control and optimization, wireless and mobile networks, network security, network performance evaluation, intelligent technology, probabilistic reasoning and complex networks. Dr. Ding has published books, book chapters, journal papers and conference papers in these areas. He serves in editorial board for several international journals and serves as chairs for several international workshops and conferences. He is an IEEE Senior Member and a Member of the ACM.

Dr. Xinhui Wang, Xidian University, Xian China

Dr. Xinhui Wang is currently working at Xidian University, Xian China. His research focuses on combination optimization, network analysis, wireless and mobile network, social network analysis, Bayesian network, data mining and biological networks. He served as reviewers for several international journals and committee member of several international conferences and workshops. 

 

Recent years, with the emerging of new networks, such as wireless sensor networks, vehicle networks, P2P networks, clouding computing, or mobile Internet, the network dynamics and complexity expands from system design, hardware, software, protocols, structures, integration, evolution, application, even to business goals. Thus uncertainty is an unavoidable characteristic, which comes from unexpected hardware defects, unavoidable software errors, incomplete management information and dependency relationship between the entities among the complex networks. Due to the complexity of emerging networks, it is not always possible to build precise models in modeling and optimization (local and global) for networks. This session will provide a forum to researchers to propose theories and technologies on the probabilistic models and optimization strategies in the areas of network performance, network management, network security, etc. for emerging networks.
